2023

Having successfully raised over £10,000 for Mind Charity between 2020 – 22, we are pleased to announce our next charity partnership with the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

This is a charity close to our hearts at Home Decor as a beloved colleague and friend sadly passed away with the disease in 2022. This partnership is to honour him, his family and all those who suffer from this disease.

The MND Association charity focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by motor neurone disease in the UK.

2022

Home Decor has committed its support to Mind Charity for the past 3 years with an aim of raising £10,000 by the end of 2022. We are over the moon to announce that we raised this and more with a fantastic £10,771.14 for the Mind charity.

Despite huge challenges during covid and lockdowns in 2020 / 21, we managed to work together to raise a meaningful amount of money for this great cause.

We have helped Mind provide advice and support for millions of people who suffer with mental health problems. Every penny that we have collectively raised has helped to improve services, raise awareness and promote better understanding around mental health issues. The below from Mind shows some of the ways in which our money has helped people throughout the UK over the past three years.

A group of HD employee’s and some family members completed the challenging 15 mile Sheffield Round Walk in support of Mind charity.

The scenic route through woodland, rural and urban parts of south-west Sheffield was beautiful, albeit quite challenging, with steep climbs, rocky hills and torrential rain (the equivalent of climbing 82 flights of stairs!), I think our legs have just about recovered.

We completed the walk in an impressive 5hr 23 minutes, 35,000 steps later – raising an amazing £8437 for the Mind Charity.

We’d like to say a huge thank-you for the support from our work colleagues, families and some of our trusted suppliers in helping us achieve this. To name a few Moulded Foams LimitedWhistle PRNORTH – Content Performance & Digital PRSonder IPThe Decorative Panels Group Ltd & many more, your donations will hugely contribute in helping people in need of mental health support.

2020

In January 2020 Home Decor adopted Mind as its chosen charity for the next 3 years. Over a 36-month period staff across our business got involved in a range of exciting fundraising initiatives as we looked to raise money for Mind to assist them in providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.

2017 – 2019

In January 2017 Home Decor adopted Cancer Research UK as its chosen charity for two years. Over 24 months, staff across our business got involved in a range of exciting fundraising initiatives as we raised money for the great work Cancer Research UK is doing to beat cancer sooner.

On the 24th June 2017, 46 Home Decor employees came together from our Sheffield and Swindon factories, showrooms and installation teams to tackle a 22 mile walk from Bakewell into and around Chatsworth in the Peak District.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the following partners for their kind donations to this great cause:

2016

Charity initiatives are a really important part of our culture. After an incredible three years of fundraising, the team at Home Décor raised over £26,000 – enough to sponsor a private bedroom in the new wing of Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Through our partnership with AquAid we have recently helped fund the building of an Elephant Pump in Manicaland in the north eastern highlands of Zimbabwe.
